Welcome to Payments Domain (Dot) Calm 😊
I am Santosh Rajagopalan, a payment enthusiast. I firmly believe that the best way to learn is by sharing the knowledge I have. My current occupation as a Business Analyst in the software industry has put me on a learning trajectory in Payments domain.
Every day there are new software engineers joining this ever-growing ever-changing domain. I thought I could share whatever I know about payments via. a series of articles. Please feel free to post any questions you might have on these articles as it would add value to me and other readers.
Once again welcome. As a friend of mine once said, “the world is small, and the payments industry is even smaller”. Please join this community and enjoy reading.

From the scope of this blog, I will attempt to answer these questions as best as I can.
These are terms associated with card payments and I request you to follow my blog cardsdomain.com for further info.
From an A2A payments perspective, we have 2 terms that are commonly used. Reject and return.
Reject – When the payment is rejected by the next party in the chain. This party can be a CSM or Another bank. Payments are rejected if accounting has not taken place.
Return – Here, accounting would have taken place in the CSM/Receiving bank and then the money would be returned to us.
